There definitely isn't just on answer to this question. The show is absolutely fantastic. I think that every other chat show that I have ever seen has at least a couple of moments that make me feel awkward while watching. It is a different case when watching Graham's show. I think one of the main reasons for this is the fact that the guests all come out at the same time. If one guest is up his own ass then the others can reel him in a little. There is usually a comedian on the couch too, which always adds to the hilarity, and they can help Graham poke fun at the other guests.
There is a real party atmosphere on the show every week (especially when Mark Wahlberg is on) and this is completely down to Graham. The man is a fucking legend. There isn't a funnier chat show host out there. He is clearly having a great time, and this definitely rubs off on even the stuffiest of guests. I mean, some of them can still be complete bores (Usher), but Graham's hilarity can make up for this. Graham is also very professional and clearly does a lot of research on his guests. He always asks interesting questions to help get the best out of them.
One of the funniest things in this show happens right at the end. I am talking, of course, about the red chair. This is a chance for mere plebs to get on the show. They try to tell an interesting story. If they fail, their chair is flipped by Graham or one of his guests. If their story is satisfactory, they may walk away. I love that Graham can be so harsh to these poor people. It's fucking hilarious, and he can get away with it because he is so lovable.
It's the best chat show on television. The Graham Norton Show is The Shit.
