Playstation All-stars: Battle Royale: Hunger Games: Catching Fire and the Philosopher's Stone

I'm not that big a fan of Playstation, or any kind of game console really. I am a distinctly casual gamer. I enjoy the odd sports game, and playing a very small amount of Call of Duty (I am really shit at it). One type of game that I do like, however, is the button-bashing beat 'em ups. This game is a perfect example of this. Obviously it's Playstation's answer to Super Smash Bros. I don't really care about that, to be honest. Sure the characters are more well known, but it is just a fighting game. The characters don't matter all that much. It's more about the gameplay. Having said that, where the fuck are Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the dragon?

This game is really fun when you're playing with friends, but I would highly recommend using the random character generator because some asshole is going to aalways pick Kratos or Raiden. They are quite overpowered compared to a lot of other characters. I mean, I am literally never going to pick Big Daddy because I think he's too slow. Ratchet is a bad-ass, and Fat Princess can do a job, if motivated.

I actually like the gameplay in this game. It really is a leveller  This is important for a shit gamer like me. You keep button bashing to gain combos that give you power orbs that build up your power meter. There are three levels of power. You can only gain points when you kill another character using these power attacks. It's weird, though; with some characters the level two attack can do more damage than the level three, and Ratchet's level one is just ridiculously overpowered.

The only issue that can be had with the game is it's imbalance, but by using the random character generator this is rectified so I don't really see any problems. I mean, it seems to be a fairly unique system of scoring, and I think that the various levels really look cool, and add to the experience. Because of this, I've got tho say that Playstation All-Sars: Battle Royale is Not That Shit.
