Evil Dead, Bitch!

When I was talking about reboots and remakes the other day I had an ulterior motive. I knew that I would be going to an advanced screening of the horror remake that is Evil Dead. That movie was awesome. There was a lot of scary shit, and  the plot was simple and intriguing.

This is one of those classic Cabin in the Woods stories that are so popular in the horror genre. I hadn't seen the original series so this was my introduction to this story. I found it to be engaging, and terrifying in equal measures. That can only be a good thing. I am sure that is what the producers wanted.

I was looking through the IMDB message boards today, though, and I found out that this movie isn't that well received by fans of the original series. To those people I say: Fuck off! The reason for this is the fact that Evil Dead is an excellent movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you think it's shit then you are just an asshole. Keep the original out of your mind and you will see this for what it is; a movie that can appeal to a mass audience that wants to be frightened.
